Dressed Up Boursin Cheese
Serves: 6
Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 shallots, thinly sliced
¼ cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
½ teaspoon black pepper
One g package savoury boursin cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (like basil or chives)
Bread or crackers, for serving
Directions
Remove the boursin cheese an hour before serving.
Bring a large saucepan or skillet to medium heat and add the butter. When the butter is melted, add the onion, shallots, and walnuts. Bring the heat down to low and stir occasionally. Sauté until the onions are caramelized and soft, about 20-25 minutes.
If serving warm, bake the boursin cheese in an oven-safe dish for 10 minutes before serving to warm.
Add the garlic and stir into the onions until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the red wine vinegar and black pepper.
Place the boursin cheese on a serving plate and pour the onions and walnuts over the cheese.
Top with fresh herbs and serve immediately with bread or crackers. Enjoy!
