This Gin Aperol Fizz is a cross between light, refreshing, citrusy, and the perfect amount of fizz that it will have you sipping and enjoying the lovely summer golden hours.
If you haven't been around long, I've been sharing a new happy hour recipe every single Friday all summer long, and this is the 12th one! As our second last one, I knew we had to share a quick, easy, and easy-sipping recipe that would have you enjoying the late summer golden hours. This Gin Aperol Fizz is just that with a hint of citrus, floral, and fresh flavours that will have you making more than just a drink.
This recipe is very easy to make and has a bit of wiggle room in the preparation, depending on available tools and preference. I like to shake the first few ingredients on ice before pouring over ice and adding soda water and garnish. I find that it helps really cool down the beverage and makes it just that much more refreshing. However, you can skip the shaking and just stir if you prefer.
Gin Aperol Fizz
1 ounce dry gin
1.5 ounces aperol (or another Italian apéritif)
0.5 ounce freshly squeezed orange juice
2-3 ounces soda water
orange slice, for garnish
mint leaves, for garnish
Step 1: Get shaking
In a cocktail shaker or glass jar, add the gin, aperol, orange juice and a handful of ice. Shake until fully cooled. Strain over over ice into a highball glass.
Step 2: Garnish and enjoy
Top up with soda water and garnish with an orange slice and sprig of mint leaves. Cheers!
